Jury Reaches Guilty Verdict in Murder of Abortion Doctor. I know that’s considered fast, but I’m surprised it took even that long. The only possible defense for Roeder was an insanity plea, and the defense didn’t even try it. The closest they came was arguing for “an unreasonable but honest belief that circumstances existed that justified deadly force,” which is clearly specious. He should have just plead guilty and saved us all some time. Lock him up.
